Feast and Fire 25th Anniversary Celebration, 2014
We invited all our current and former members to share in our first annual harvest feast on the 25th year of Vashon Island Cohousing. Sixty of us gathered in and around our Common House on this crisp fall evening to celebrate our origins, history, and present day.
Our historian and one of our founders, Mark Musick, showed slides after dinner of our journey from 1989 until now, including the original group that purchased the land, many children who are now grown, and the births and deaths that have enriched our experiences together.
Our videographer, Matt Lawrence, asked many of us to join him at the fire pit to share stories that were meaningful to each of us. We’re grateful for this documentation at our 25-year mark, and to be able to share ourselves with you.
